Our philosophy about food is simple. We believe in the joy of work, traditional culinary craftsmanship, and good ingredients. We prefer using locally sourced produce. Everything we serve is made from scratch. There are no shortcuts to really good food.
Served every day from 11am to 2pm.
Freshly baked bread, salad and coffee are always included.

Welcome to our bakery
We have now re-opened our bakery premises, which were closed for a while for restoration. As the word implies, we haven’t made it all look brand new. On the contrary, we’ve brought out more of the premises’ old, splendid character — including the beautiful century ceiling with its exposed beams. Vi tror på arbetsglädje, traditionellt mathantverk, och bra råvaror. Vi föredrar råvaror som kommer från trakter nära oss. Allt vi serverar görs från grunden. Det finns inga genvägar till riktigt bra mat.

Most tourists visiting Gamla Stan, Stockholm old town, stop for fika at Chokladkoppen I actually prefer to go to the other side of Stortorget. Stortorget is Stockholm&#;s Main marknad Square. The sunny terrace and the cute houses of Chokladkoppen is what attracts people. What little people know is that Grillska Huset also has a sunny terrace!
The building dates back to the Middle Ages. Several major renovations have been done through the centuries. The Stockholm City Mission (Stadsmissionen) has been in the building since There fryst vatten also a social component in the form of an employment project and social integration.

Contrary of what you might think the name has ingenting to do with a grill. The name comes from the Grill family. They bought this property at the end of the 17th century from merchant Hans Bremer. The most famous Grill was Claes, a banker and director of the East India Company. Together with his wife Anna Johanna, he organized parties in his house. Rumor goes that even queen Lovisa Ulrika was jealous of those events.
